Hidden along Tanjong Pagar Road is APRICE, a Japanese wholesale grocery store that's stocked with everything from sashimi-grade seafood and restaurant-sized condiments to affordable coffee beans and bulk pantry essentials. While it's designed with F&B businesses in mind, it's also open to the public. Which means anyone can shop here.

The best part? Some of the prices genuinely made us do a double take!

Fresh coffee from just $1.20

Coffee lovers, this one's for you.

A-PRICE serves freshly brewed coffee using toho coffee, a Japanese coffee brand that has been supplied to hotels, cafes and restaurants in Japan for decades. It's also the first time the coffee is available outside Japan in a retail store. An Americano starts from just $1.20, while whole coffee beans, ground coffee and drip coffee packs are also available if you'd rather brew them at home.

30 eggs for just $5.90

Egg prices have been creeping up everywhere, so spotting an entire tray of 30 eggs for just $5.90 definitely caught our attention. Whether you're meal-prepping, baking or feeding a large family, it's one of those buys that's hard to ignore.

Affordable kaisendon? Yes, please.

If seafood is your weakness, you'll probably spend quite a while browsing here.

A-PRICE stocks Japanese seafood ingredients used by restaurants, alongside fresh salmon, seasonal seafood flown in from Japan, and even live Canadian lobsters.

One standout? Canadian lobsters from just $29.90, which is surprisingly wallet-friendly compared to what you'd usually expect to pay elsewhere.

Their ready-to-eat kaisendon is also one of the more affordable options we've come across, making it an easy lunch stop if you're already in the area.

Restaurant-quality ingredients at wholesale prices

Beyond seafood, you'll find shelves stocked with Japanese sauces, seasonings, mayonnaise, rice, frozen foods and pantry staples, many sold in commercial-sized packs typically used by restaurants.

The store also carries products sourced from Japan as well as other parts of the world, giving shoppers access to ingredients that aren't always easy to find at regular supermarkets.

If you enjoy cooking Japanese food at home, it's the sort of place where you'll probably leave with more than you planned.

A quality and affordable find for home cooks

A-PRICE is actually the first overseas outlet by Japanese food wholesaler TOHO, a company that's been supplying the food service industry in Japan for decades. Originally created as a cash-and-carry concept for restaurants, the Singapore outlet is now bringing those same professional-grade ingredients directly to everyday shoppers.

Whether you're after affordable seafood, bulk groceries, Japanese pantry staples or simply a cheap cup of coffee, this is one grocery stop that's worth adding to your list.
