S’more Than Food: A Camping-Themed Dining Escape at NOMADS, in The Oval (Seletar Aerospace Park)

Cue Spongebob’s Campfire Song, because that’s exactly the mood NOMADS sets. Outdoor camping chairs, fairy lights, and glamping tents created the illusion that we were on a getaway, not at lunch in Singapore!
NOMADS isn’t just any café. It’s a camping-themed restaurant tucked inside Seletar Aerospace Park, an aviation hub far from the city buzz. On a Thursday afternoon, my colleagues and I stumbled in hungry, and found ourselves on a full-blown glamping food trip.
With folding chairs, tents, and vibes straight out of BTS’ In The Soop, the place felt more like a year-end retreat than a weekday lunch (>.<).

NOMADS’ menu leaned into their theme: all-day brunch, hearty mains, and finger foods, many served in camping-style mess tins. We kicked things off with the Camp Jaffles ($18). If you didn’t know, Jaffles are a type of sealed toast sandwich: think of an uncrusted toasty bread pocket.
A sweet and tangy bolognese sauce stuffed inside the pockets made them the perfect starter to our feast ahead! Can I also say how much I adore these camping tin boxes?!

The Scout Skillet Hash ($23) was hearty enough to fuel an actual hike... crispy rosti, smoky chorizo, tangy sour cream all mixing into the kind of bite that makes you wonder why camp food in real life never tastes this good.

The showstopper though, was the Steak & Eggs ($28): juicy pink-centred steak with a well-seasoned crust, served with sourdough and a fluffy cloud of scrambled eggs.

To wash it down, we tried the Milo Latte ($7) (a “fancy” ultra-gao Milo that can be upgraded with espresso for the adults-at-heart) and a refreshing Strawberry Lemonade ($8), perfect for the heat.
My milo-crazy colleagues thoroughly enjoyed what they called fancy milo, an ultra gao milo with slightly foam on top for that fancy touch. For the adults who are actually kids at heart, opt to add a shot of espresso in your Milo Latte for that added kick. I opted for something more refreshing in a Strawberry Lemonade, a balanced sweet quencher for a hot day out.
Final campfire thoughts: NOMADS nailed the illusion of escape. We came in for a weekday lunch and left feeling like we’d been on a short retreat. Between the fairy lights, hearty comfort food, and even the promise of live bands in the evenings, it’s a spot I can see myself returning to again and again (I'm already planning a second trip down with family!).
Bonus: the outdoor seating is pet-friendly, making it an ideal retreat for both people and fur kids alike.
