Upon the hills of Hillview, this minimalist café sits perched on the top floor, quietly coexisting with a shared rooftop space. Step inside, and it feels as though you’ve been transported to a sleek, futuristic setting (okay, maybe not entirely a space station, but it definitely has that vibe). 🪐
With Coexist Coffee's bare concrete walls, muted grey tones, and clean, angular furnishings, the interior radiates an industrial calm that’s both otherworldly and grounding.
Natural light spills in from several windows, casting beams across the raw textures, amplifying the sci-fi aesthetic O.O
Surprisingly, the food is anything but minimalistic. The menu ranges from matcha to pasta; I went for the aglio olio, which was generously seasoned and flavorful, though just a touch heavy on the oil. My friend had the matcha, which was a smooth, well-balanced delight... earthy, creamy, and not overly sweet. It’s clear the kitchen doesn’t just rely on the aesthetic; there’s substance here too ^.^
Their menu features a vibrant array of dishes, from flaky croissants and savoury toasties to bold options like black pepper crab pasta and chili crab shakshuka... plus plenty more!
“Step inside, and you’re suddenly lightyears from Hillview.
The view isn't spectacular, but it's not entirely the view we're here for. The treetops do make us feel like monkeys might swing ontp the rooftop space, but it's more the modular, space station vibes that makes us love it. It's insulated and cosy.
Honestly, it's quite a bit tucked away (and hard to get to), so plan a visit when you’ve got time to stay out (the whole day). Better yet, bring your laptop... WFH is pretty dreamy here.
