A scoop of nostalgia in the Hundred Acre Woods (Creamery)

It started as an inside joke between my friend and me... years of exchanging Winnie the Pooh-themed gifts, even though neither of us were particularly obsessed 😆

There’s just something about Pooh’s raspy little voice and Piglet’s sweet, timid charm that kept the joke going. Not to mention Pooh’s weird and wonderful sayings, which we pull out (totally out of context) to brave through our work woes. The weirder, the funnier. How sad.

We picked this outlet of Hundred Acre Creamery because it’s closest to the Clementi "Woods" (how could we resist?), even though they have four other branches. Seemed only right to visit the one with a name that sounds straight out of the Hundred Acre kind of forest 🌳

It’s actually been around for a while; maybe longer than some of the other things we feature on Unique Finds. But honestly, we’re not that fussed about being first. We like to wander, to stumble into things. And when something feels a little special, we go for it and share it... because even if it’s familiar to some, it might be a delightful surprise to someone else :)

Peering into the ice cream selection, the flavours didn’t sound very Hundred Acre-y, but you really can’t go wrong with Belgian dark chocolate and strawberry cheesecake... so that’s exactly what we ordered. Near the register, there was a little stack of classic Pooh quotes to take. Naturally, we each grabbed one!

Pooh quotes lined the walls, and plush toys peeked out from the shelves. We couldn’t stop grinning, tbh... after ten years of running with this joke, it felt like we’d finally come full circle.

With two scoops of ice cream ($12) on a bed of Belgian waffles ($6), all that was missing was a little pot of honey to drizzle over! (But honestly, the waffles didn’t need any.)

It was seriously warm and delicious... we loved the taste of that batter!!! Uniquely malty and mellow 🤔 We cleaned the waffles off the plate faster than we did the ice cream 😛

For our next friendship anniversary, we'd have to come by here again, because jokes aside, the waffles and ice cream? They're the stuff of fairytales...
