A Reversed Guide to Wicked For Good in Sentosa: Is it worth doing the Wicked pilgrimage if you're not visiting Universal Studios Singapore (or if you're not a Wicked fan)?

Well, magic is certainly in the air.
It's hard to ignore the press coverage for Wicked with its grandiose international promo tour: the press coverage, the digital ads, the features promising a visually engaging feast that would charm you into curiosity (even if you’re not a Wicked fan).
"Skip down the Yellow Brick Road!"
"Experience the Land of Oz!"
"Defy gravity with Sentosa's bungee jump!"
Being Wicked fans ourselves, it was a no-brainer deciding to organise a visit to Sentosa, which seems to be the main incubator of the Wicked movie tour, for our Friday team outing.

Listing this activity as a not-so-unique find, we made sure to keep the tricky question at the back of our minds: if we weren't Wicked fans, would we still enjoy this Wicked "pilgrimage"?
The TL;DR answer is a resounding yes… just make sure you go at night.
The long answer? Follow along with me!
We were first greeted by a very Christmassy Vivocity, warmly whetting our appetites for the journey ahead. And we lucked out. We caught the foam avalanche outside, right by the Candyland Christmas tree.

We chose to walk in to save the $4 transport fee, but halfway through we debated if it was worth it since we were wrung out towards the end of the 15-min walk 😂
Once we recovered enough to look around, we finally pulled out the digital map and began our little pilgrimage. Except… we started backwards, because the nearest entrance dropped us right at the end.
The proper way is to take the skytrain all the way to Beach Station and start from Stop 1… but since we walked in and skipped the train entirely, we’re writing this adventure in reverse (starting from 7).

Our first stop (but number 6 on the above map): Emerald City (Lake of Dreams, RWS)
Light-up (and music): 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm (Only on weekends and eve of PHs), 12am (NYE)

Thoughts: The Emerald City wasn't as gigantic as it looked in the promo photos (or in my imagination), but with the lights and the musical light-up, it was still spell-binding and towered high. We sat on the atrium’s yellow-bridge-road stairs, surrounded by lit-up bushes, trees and pillars in every colour.
Next stop, number 5: Entrance to Emerald City at RWS, Link bridge (Imbiah Station)
Light-up: 6pm to 1am

Thoughts: A simple yet eye-catching installation at the top of the stairs after Emerald City (photo opportunity). There's a tricky "crossroads" here as well: If you go through the arc and straight in, you'll see the RWS shops, which are lightly dressed in the "Wicked For Good" theme. This isn’t technically part of the guided adventure, but it's not a bad idea to detour for a quick browse (which we did)!

Stop 4, Elphaba's Hat (Lookout Loop @ Sensoryscape): Remember how I briefly mentioned that there is a tricky crossroads between Stop 5 and 4? So, if you head up the stairs instead of going through to the shops, you'd encounter Elphaba's hat and another lit-up arch.
Light-up: 6pm to 1am

Next up, Stop 3: Emerald City Express (Tactile Trellis, Sensoryscape)
Light-up: 6pm to 1am
After Elphaba's Hat, we began walking towards Sensoryscape, which welcomed us with a yellow brick road "carpet", and a movie standee photo opportunity!

Next, Stops 2 and 1: Yellow Brick Road and Glinda's Bubble (Glow Garden, Sensoryscape)
Light-up: 6pm to 1am

Final thoughts: Enchanted. Spell-bound. You’ll have to visit this, especially during the festive season... the event runs till 4 Jan 2026. And yes, it's worth a visit whether or not you're a fan.
If I have one regret, it’s that I didn’t show up in a witchy hat or some magical accessory… it would’ve made the adventure even better *.*

Location: At Sentosa Island, until 4 Jan 2026.
